 Phonetic System: Russian Alphabet

The Russian alphabet (also called the Cyrillic alphabet) contains 33 letters.

In the following table all modern Russian letters (both in upper and lower case) are presented with their names in alphabetical order.

Thus, the Russian alphabet consists of 33 letters broken down into 10 vowels, 21 consonants, and 2 letters, which are neither vowels nor consonants: - hard sign, - soft sign.
